Having fitted a brand spanking new rebuilt Pontiac 400 motor (6.6 litre) - and after giving it a good 2000 mile run in - I decided to take the car to the track to see what it could do!

The track was an old airfield circuit, excellently run by bookatrack.com. The good thing about airfield tracks as opposed to a racing circuit is that there is literally acres of run off, and nothing to hit for miles - if you do come off you're just going to end up on the grass! I would seriously recommend these days to anyone with a yankee (or any car for that matter) who really wants to see what it can do! Just be prepared to perhaps scrub a couple of tyres, and make sure any passengers take sufficient valium with them...

I will definately be going again in the new year once I have made some further modifications to the car. If anyone out there has a yank and fancies coordinating a day, mail me or look me up on bookatrack.com - my username is 'nevday'.
